Expanding Heavenly Real Estate

A Q&A interview with Realtor Connie Nichols

“I now experience what I can only describe as supernatural transactions.”
- Connie Hamlett-Nichols, Realtor

My dear friend and real estate agent, Connie Nichols, helped my husband and I find our Faith Hunt” property.  In this month’s Q&A guest blog, she shares about how our “Prayer of Jabez” book journey together elevated her real estate business to a whole new level!

LH:  Part of our friendship story is our experience of reading “The Prayer of Jabez” book together, which is the process of inviting God to expand our territory beyond what we think we are capable of.  As a real estate agent, would you say your business “territory” expanded after we did this book together?

CN:  It’s the reason why my business has expanded.  I believe that its premise — what the Bible verse this book is based on teaches us — and allowing God to be the One “in charge” is why I’m successful.

LH:  To give readers a little backstory, you and I were friends for many years, but our seasons in life came back together about 7 years ago in a new way.  Not only did our old friendship resume in a new season, but it happened to be at a time when we both were ready to seek God and “His Kingdom” in a deeper way than we had in our lives before.  How has it impacted your faith?

CN:  I love how God works through relationships…and I love how, with regard to that book, there’s no way anyone would have known that God had been putting it on my heart for about a month.  Then you and I were having coffee, celebrating how God showed up during the process of us finding the land for your new home build…and out of the blue, you tell me “I’ve been thinking about reading The Prayer of Jabez book again….”

CN: It was clear confirmation that we were supposed to do this together, even though both of us had read it separately years ago before we knew each other.  God brought us back into each other’s life for a reason.  During our process it was as if I’d never read it before.

LH:  I remember that you and I both kept journals of what was happening during our time reading it, and for a period of time after as the back of the book suggests.  I remember we were calling each other so excited about the “expansion” of things that were happening in our lives on a daily basis, which we were writing in our journals.  Can you share how this was happening for you?

CN:  Oh!  God was expanding my territory in so many different ways.  My business, my finances, my relationships.  My vision and my hearing.  My faith and confidence expanded, also.  It was not, and is not, anything of my doing.  It’s all Him!

LH:  I love that!  I’m going to dig some more specifics out of you and put them in bullet points for readers!

Connie’s examples of “Heavenly Real Estate” territory expansion

-Expansion of business.  100% of my clients come through referrals.  While doing the Prayer of Jabez journey, I saw a marked increase that continues to this day.  I totally trust God to bring the clients I’m supposed to have.  I know He puts it on the hearts of people He wants to send my way.

-Expansion of finances.  The increase of business has definitely expanded my territory financially.  It may not always add up on paper, but the Lord has provided for my family in ways far beyond the logical!

-Expansion of my vision and my hearing.  PRIME LOCATIONS and unusual finds come into my view at exactly the right moment!  He also gives me the ability to be OBSERVANT of my clients to know their wants and needs.  And when someone says “it aint gonna happen”, I hear with my spiritual ears “get ready ‘cause it’s gonna happen!”

-Expansion of relationships.  God has expanded my circle of relationships with people in newer, deeper ways.  My relationship with you (Lisa) is a great example.  I knew you before, but when you’re on a friendship journey with someone pursuing God’s Kingdom, you know that person on a whole different level.

-Expansion of confidence.  My confidence has expanded because it comes from Him, not me being in charge.  Even the most challenging situations are not intimidating to me like it used to be.

-Expansion of transactions.  I now experience what I can only describe as “supernatural transactions.”   So many transactions I’m involved in feel like a double portion… out of one comes another.

LH:  Last year, I wrote a Faith Forward blog for my website called God is My CEO.  As I listen to you talk about trusting God in and with your business, I think about what I shared in that blog because we’ve had a similar experiences with our faith in the business arena.  I really hope that my blog, and your story shared in this guest blog, will both encourage people to shift their intention to putting HIM in charge. Any thoughts on that?

CN:  I focus more on responding to the doors HE is opening, rather than what doors I can open through my efforts…because GOD is the lead generator!  I know that every year is going to be a good year, because He has the clients in His heavenly pipeline.  I’ve got the real estate thing down…but it’s always about something much bigger than what I think it’s about.  He gives me the vision, the plan for what I’m supposed to be doing, and I trust what He says over what the market or the news says.

LH:  Apart from reading and applying “The Prayer of Jabez” book, can you give another practical example of where to begin?

CN:  I have written Mark 11:24 everywhere!  “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”  I look at it and speak it out loud on a regular basis, and I BELIEVE IT.  This verse, and the Prayer of Jabez scripture (1 Chronicles 4:10) have both been life changers for me!

LH:  Regarding “The Prayer of Jabez” book, would you say that doing this with a friend or other partner was more impactful than when you read it by yourself the first time?

CN:  HUGE impact.  SPIRITUAL impact!  I have more understanding of God and His Word.  And I was partnering with someone who loves me, and cares about me and my family. I have a record to look back on of how He has moved in my life and business.

LH:  Me, too!  And I remember one of the most fun things about the experience – which still continues to this day – is celebrating what was happening in the OTHER person’s life along with what was happening in my own.

Our Prayer of Jabez journey is a great “God and My Girlfriends” real life story! :-)
